This timeless combo brings together a juicy cheeseburger topped with ketchup, paired perfectly with crispy golden fries. Simple yet irresistible!

Ingredients
For the Cheeseburger:

1/2 lb ground beef 🥩
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp onion powder 🧅
1 slice of cheddar cheese 🧀
1 burger bun 🍞
1 tbsp butter (for toasting the bun)
1 tbsp ketchup 🍅

Optional Toppings:

Sliced pickles 🥒
Lettuce leaves 🥬
Sliced tomato 🍅

For the Fries:

2 medium russet potatoes 🥔
2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Fries:

Peel and cut potatoes into thin sticks.
Soak them in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with a towel.

Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Fry potatoes in batches for 3–4 minutes until pale and tender but not browned. Remove and set aside.

Increase oil temperature to 375°F (190°C) and fry again for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.

Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt.

2. Cook the Cheeseburger:

Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and onion powder, then form into a patty slightly larger than the bun.
Cook the patty for 3–4 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
Add the cheese on top during the last minute to melt.

3. Toast the Bun:

Spread butter on the cut sides of the bun.
Toast in the skillet until golden brown.

4. Assemble the Cheeseburger:

Spread ketchup on the bottom bun.
Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top.
Add pickles, lettuce, and tomato if desired.
Cover with the top bun.

5. Serve:

Plate the cheeseburger alongside the crispy fries.
Add extra ketchup for dipping, and enjoy!

Pro Tips:

For extra crispy fries, fry them a third time briefly before serving.
Use brioche buns for a buttery, fluffy texture.
Upgrade the burger with caramelized onions or bacon for an indulgent twist.
This classic dish is perfect for a quick, satisfying meal! 🍔🍟
