Ingredients:
4 boneless chicken thighs (or breasts)
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup breadcrumbs
Vegetable oil for frying
4 sesame buns
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon mustard
Pickles
Lettuce
Instructions:
Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine the chicken thighs with buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
Prepare the breading: In a shallow bowl, mix the flour and breadcrumbs. Dredge the marinated chicken pieces in the flour and breadcrumb mixture, making sure it's fully coated.
Fry the chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the chicken for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C). Drain on a paper towel.
Make the sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and mustard to create a creamy sauce. You can also add a little lemon juice or garlic for extra flavor.
Assemble the sandwich: Toast the sesame buns lightly. Spread the sauce on the bottom bun, then layer with lettuce, fried chicken, melted cheddar cheese, and pickles.
Serve and enjoy: Top with the other half of the bun and serve with a side of fries for the perfect meal!
