A5 Wagyu Steak – The Ultimate in Tenderness, Flavor, and Luxury! Perfect for a Special Occasion or Gourmet Feast!
Ingredients:
2 A5 Wagyu beef steaks (about 6-8 oz each)
Sea salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1-2 sprigs of fresh thyme (optional)
2 cloves garlic, smashed (optional)
2 tbsp unsalted butter
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Prepare the Steak:
Remove the A5 Wagyu steaks from the refrigerator 30-45 minutes before cooking to allow them to reach room temperature. This ensures even cooking.
Season both sides of the steaks generously with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Preheat the Pan:
Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat. Let it get very hot to sear the steak properly.
Sear the Steak:
Add the vegetable oil or clarified butter to the skillet. Once the oil is hot and shimmering, place the steaks in the pan.
Sear for 1-2 minutes on the first side until a rich, golden-brown crust forms. Flip the steaks and sear the other side for another 1-2 minutes.
Optionally, add the fresh thyme and smashed garlic to the pan for extra aroma and flavor.
Add Butter for Flavor:
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the unsalted butter to the pan and allow it to melt, swirling it around the steak.
Spoon the melted butter over the steaks repeatedly for 1-2 minutes, basting the meat to enhance the flavor and tenderness.
Check Doneness:
A5 Wagyu is best enjoyed medium-rare to medium, as its high marbling ensures a buttery texture. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature:Medium-rare: 130°F (54°C)
Medium: 135°F (57°C)
Rest the Steak:
Once the steaks reach your desired doneness, remove them from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and ensures a juicy steak.
Serve:
Slice the steak against the grain to showcase the beautiful marbling. Serve as a standalone dish or wi
